Amazon.co.uk Review
How John Lennon's confessional song became the title for a silly James Bond spoof is still inexplicable. The funny thing is, it works both ways--as a young man's personal statement about learning to open up to others, and as the frantic theme for an exotic espionage chase comedy starring those loveable mop-tops (this time in COLOUR). Like A Hard Day's Night, only the first "side" of this album actually contains songs from the movie--the biggest hits being the eponymous cry for assistance and "Ticket to Ride". But part two has a few nice tunes as well, like "It's Only Love", "I've Just Seen a Face" and a little ditty called "Yesterday". And it's always fun when they do an all-out screamer like "Dizzy Miss Lizzy", which sounds like John's raucous answer to Paul's "Kansas City / Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey" vocal on Beatles for Sale. --Jim Emerson

The world's most over-rated band followed up their 'For Sale' with yet another piece of lightweight music hall whimsy.
At least this offering is not beset with six covers like its predecessor, which I suppose acts as some kind of salvation against the mediocrity that is the 'not-so-fab-four'.
The album that preceded 'For Sale' was written in its entirety by the band but the subsequent release is overwhelmed with six covers - go figure!
'Help' ( August 1965 ) had marked the transition from Merseybeat to a sound more akin to folk and country but is tediousness nevertheless rarely disipates.
If you want to hear a total rip off of Buddy Holly then you need to look no further than 'Help'.
The general country-folk inflections that permeate the recording is offset by the doleful ruminations of Lennon as he lumbers through 'You've Got To Hide Your Love Away' in a manner that is reminiscent of a melancholy ballad.
The public have been duped by a savvy mogul and manager backed to the hilt by a record company who were shrewd enough to invest in the Beatles 'brand' during a period in history when young people desperately needed eight shoulders to cry on .
a fine album
